Very strange because it works correctly for me every time.
You have probably already tried this but I notice you are always picking the outer most circle for the Circular Pattern Center.
There appears to be two more small diameter features that you could select as the Center also, have you tried those?
I understand it is just a single file with this issue since have made another that works as you want.
Can you post the problem file here so we can look at it?

I tried other circles but the result was the same. Here's a link to the parthttp://dl.dropbox.com/u/70042915/11834.ipt & the drawing http://dl.dropbox.com/u/70042915/11834.idw

I had a look at the files you posted. If you made the sketches for the two holes centres that you are trying to put centre marks on, on the othe side of the plate (i.e. on the same plane as sketch 1 was made) the pick order seems to work. I'm using Inventor 2012.

OK so I pull your files and did a little testing on them. From your early comment that a new file work correctly and that RAY says it works correctly from the opp side made me think it has to do with the features in the part.

So I deleted the two hole features, fixed the skecthes that effected, and remade these holes with new sketches.
Now the part drawing works as it should. I can not tell you why though.

I moved the sketches as Ray suggested & the centred pattern works properly now. I don't understand why this would make a difference but thanks for the help.

Just an added note here. I recreated the sketches for these holes on your original plane and it also begin to work correctly. That being said it may not have been some much what plane they were made from but that they just needed to be remade. Something was just up with those features as they were originally produced.

As Todd said. remaking the hole features on any plane seems to work. Got me stumped also. Tried removing the projected references for the other hole sketches but that didn't seem to matter. Also tried dragging the features into a different order in the tree but that didn't work. I think it was just a random bug that caused a hang-up and remaking the holes has fixed it. As a side note, on small parts like these with only a few holes I generally draw the holes in the first sketch and make them in the first extrude rather than using the hole command. It makes things easier if & when I need to change something as all the info is in one sketch. In this instance I would have drawn the firs ketch with the two holes we are talking about, the one in the centre and the keyed one. I would have put the threaded ones on a seperate sketch though.

Ray.

Actually, scrap all of the above. Made another sheet in the idw. made base view att 2:1, rotated to the correct angle as shown on the first sheet and everything worked like it should. I think it is something not right with the drawing view instead of the model.

Maybe it was something in the drawing view but it's strange that I have found this in 2 different parts. I note what Ray says about extruding the holes first but, as this was a part in development, I didn't know where the holes would be until I had the basic shape worked out. Got to go fix the drawing now as moving the sketch plane has screwed everything.
