Drawing Environment: Fix the hatch tool in view sketches! ...is it not possible to allow us to pick more than one region at a time...geese :(

Matter of fact allow us to hatch on a sketch in the Part Environment so that we can show faces hatched in ISO views by showing sketches without dims! ...a lot of us can NOT use the shaded view mode on our drawings!!!!

Embedded Phantom Components in Assemblies?
Yes I would love to see this happen. Basically most PDMs do not allow for arbitrary naming of reference parts...yes you can make a part phantom to the Parts List however its still an actual ipt/iam file...why not allow us to derive IN these references...literally embed them into the iam file? ...I know about the file size issue but there are solutions for large file management people (i.e. LODs, Shrink Wrap, etc...)

This would allow us to include reference geometry and not have to exclude it as archive-able data!

Some say this is what Libraries are for...true but that has to be organized and managed! ...I'm speaking of on the fly reference geometry that can be visibly controlled (or suppressed) within the assembly file!

And i am still rolling and havent finished by far : an easier way to shut off those annoying error message ; especially those which only inventor seems to find a problem.....

As an example : every move i did in an assembly i had an error mistake about an ipart used in the assembly though the part was correct he had problems with the data. For the rest it caused no problems in the assembly. I searched for an hour for the stupid prompt to shut off but couldnt find it. :x :bang:

In the BOM editor of an assembly, I would like to be able to print which ever tab I want. Right now the best I can do is print screen and then print that. If I export it, I loose some of the formatting.

Never really understood why we were not allowed to print here.

LOD detail view not linked on base view

I would like to have a detailview (or projected view, section view, etc.) on another Level of Detail then my base view.
This way I can place my base view on light LOD and in a detail show a bolted connection which is on another LOD.

This isn't possible now, so what's the use of making my assembly light with LOD if I still have to place the full LOD in a drawing? :?

Show dimensions in an assembly

Everybody knows the Show Dimension option in parts (right?). Why not build such a thing in an assembly also?
For example: When I want to have a hole pattern the same in two different plates, through RMB I select part and/or features and use Show Dimensions to copy and link the hole pattern to the other part.

It's possible now, but just too much work :-|

I would like to be able to change the shape of the detail view AFTER it is placed. How many times have you placed a detail view and used the Round fence, then you later need to chage it to a square shape to show more detail, or vica versa? You have to delete the detail view, then recreate it. Any dimensions or balloons that is in the detail view has to be recreated as well.

If we could change the shape after it is placed, that would be great.

Ability to use copy and paste in parts list.
Now it seems you have to type it all over again when similar sentences have to be used.

File status => resolve => steal checkout => Now : it happens you have to click and change the parts and assemblies one by one.

I would like the possibility of all in one action .

In the idw enviroment have the ability to change the select command to be able to select components not just parts and faces or features.

2010 allows this...a little quirky but it does work...use CTRL C & V and then arrow keys to navigate which cell to paste in :)

There is a discussion topic btw

My next wish:

Filter parts list on LOD

At the moment there is the possibility to filter on:
Assembly View Representation
Ballooned Items Only
Item Number Range
Purchased Items Only
Standard Content

But why not Level of Detail?

Get number of holes in linear dimension

Normally I use as much as possible the Hole/Thread Note to get the right number of holes.
But when I'm dimensioning a Section View I can't get the number of holes in a General Dimension.
It is possible when I have a threaded hole (with Hole/Thread Note select both outside lines and you'll get a linear dimension), but not a normal hole.
