I wasn't sure where to post this - so I started here.

Is it possible to have transparency in any format other than GIF? I have a bmp export from IV, and one of our marketing guys wants the background transparent. The colors aren't that nice to look at through 8 bit glasses.<g>

Ask him what his ultimate intention is...

If it's something for Photoshop work - then you can give him a photoshop file.

I think one other format allows transparency - either TIFF or PNG - can't remember which.

I think he wants to drop it into a Power point. I will look into those other formats. I wish I had Photoshop here at work - all I have is Corel PhotoPaint.

Why 8 bit? You can have a 32 bit GIF if you want...

In the future you can throw this in the Off Topic. Do I need a general "computing forum"?

OK I changed one of the forums to better suit this type question. Want me to move it Cory to get a better response?

How do you get a 32 bit GIF? Must have something to do with Corel Photopaint.
Sure go ahead and move it...

I use photoexpress. You have to tell it to use the 32bit pallet.

PNG support Transparency, not sure about TIFF but PNG is typically a smaller file.
