Did you see your tip about dividing lines made the pilot issue of the Autodesk manufacturing Newsletter?

A link to the article.

Congrats!

Not to steal any of Steve's fire, but how about that Featured Community Member piece at the bottom of the newsletter?

Kudos to both Steve and Sean!

I like that tip, I'll probably use it!

the comment by Nigel Hay on it is how I do a lot of stuff, though - with a distance pattern you can change the number of instances parametrically, too.

one thing I run into is that I want the middle instance centered, but sketch patterns only run in a direction from the first, not both directions. make the thing-to-be-patterned but don't constrain its location, then make the pattern, and constrain the instance to a midpoint. the problem is that this breaks down if you change the # of instances.

Hmmm...I would NOT use that approach.

I would use a (sp)line (or arc) and the rectangular feature pattern with the option set to "Curve Length" . I will even use this when I only need to place two holes...

As for the "constrained to the middle hurdle"--> You should be able to figure-out the center position of the pattern...
