It was clearly CGI. What I found most interesting was the part about what is under the ground. The 'concept' seems to suggest it was in a town that was above a massive rare earth deposit. BTW: there is no way something like that could ever have any efficiency. but it was fun to watch.

Funny that they continued to use the wheel approach in the design. A circular design is not what I would think is the most efficient.

Over the weekend, I ran into a high school friend. He bought a Leaf and has since put on 13K miles. Shortly after purchase, they parked and covered their other cars because they preferred the Leaf to the Volvos. He and his wife had in fact driven 'over the hill' to where I ran into them. I am thinking his experience pretty much answers most of the 'range' concerns a lot of people have. They said they had several trips well in excess of 100 miles but they just stopped to do a partial charge. I suppose if you have one, you probably need a smart phone so you know where to fill up.
