When I select all of the parts I would like to edit I get the following message:

"In one or more of the selected documents, this property is controlled by an expression created outside iPropWiz. You must edit this property from the Inventor iProperties dialog box."

Is there a way to disable this feature so that I can override these fields?

Not currently. We are looking into further enhancement of expressions in the next release.

I am trying to edit a large amount of files at once. Some fields have previously been automatically filled with expressions, which I am trying to overwrite with text. Being unable to overwrite them in this way greatly reduces the usability of iPropwiz for me, as I now have to edit the files individually.

We realize the limitations, but there are a lot of things to consider when you get into expressions. Unfortunately you'll have to wait for IPW6, I hope you can give us some more feedback as we improve in this area.
