Hello!

In working with iParts, I have created an iPart (square extrusion) with different diameters to pick from, however, I'm attempting to make the LENGTH of the extrusion adaptive, for when I insert it into an assembly, I'd like its length to be constrained to existing parts.

I *think* I understand everything to do with Adaptivity, however combining adaptivity into an iPart doesn't seem to want to happen for me. I keep getting the "Constraint is inconsistent with another...." message when I try to constrain the length of extrusion to another surface.

Is there something I'm missing? :loco: I hope this isn't impossible!

Thanks,
Bill

iParts, regular or custom simply cannot be made adaptive.

End of story.

Look into using parts as templates in their own folders in the /template directory. Charles Bliss has some steel profile templates (driven by excel lookup tables) that will do what you require on his regular Parts page.

Thanks!

So much for that.

I'll take a look at Charles Bliss's stuff!
