Hi everyone. I am in dire need of assistance.

I am trying to create an Assembly (i guess an iAssembly) that consists of multiple iParts.
Now for the tricky part...at least for us it has been. The iParts we are trying to create for the assembly
are also built from pre-finished iParts. I have attached a chart to help explain what we are trying to accomplish.

If you look at the chart:
The first column on the left shows Part 1, 2, & 3. These are pre-finished compnents that are purchased.
They have the same profiles but different lengths. The generic is a basic length, and as you select the dash numbers
the part changes length. This is the same for all components in this column.

The next column shows part 1, 2, & 3 in a finished state. But the same format applies here as well.
They have the same profiles but different lengths. The generic is a basic length, and as you select the dash numbers
the part changes length. This is the same for all components in this column.

Example: Part 1.1-1 is made into Part 1.2-1, then put into Assembly 1

We then also need to build a generic assembly that holds all components. And as we select a certain assembly, all
sub components change to make up the correct assembly.

I know there has got to be a way to do this in Inventor. We have done this in the past with Pro-E, but we haven't quite
figured out how to do it with Inventor. So please...any and all help is greatly appreciated.

you may want to do this with iLogic and not iAssemblies

This way you can drive it conditionally and from Assembly 3

this is actually a multiple part question. the first thing we want to figure out is how derive an iPart with a table from another iPart with a table.
if you look at the chart Part 1.2-1 is made from 1.1-1. Then Part 1.2-2 is made from 1.1-2, and so on... once we figure out how to do this
with the iParts, we have to be able to make the interchangeable assemblies. we have many components and assemblies that are built this way.
so how would iLogic be the best solution? Pro-E does this without any problems using its Family Tables. But we have to be able to do this in
Inventor as well.
