OK you guys asked for it, here it is. The Autodesk 2012 (and beyond) wishlist. Post what you'd like to see in the next release, the things that are broken, the workflows that need to change. Just a few rules..

1. Don't just gripe. If you don't like a feature or workflow suggest a new one.
2. Keep on target. Try not to let the discussion wander. If you want to discuss someone else's idea in depth (more than a few posts back and forth) take it to this thread...
3. Realize that the development of 2012 is well underway. You should not expect major changes you suggest here to be incorporated into 2012.

The ability to generate a 3d pdf using inventor, just like solidworks has.

center point rectangle sketch tool.

ability to pull iprops into a part sketch. For creating extruded part numbers,etc...

allow component patterns/cable and harness files to be organized into browser folders regardless of their location in the tree.

ability to set a default parts list sort order in application options or somewhere.. I get REALLY sick of place parts list...edit parts list..sort by part number... I ALWAYS sort by part number.

add Kwiksert type functionality to the new "assemble" command. Simply adding an additional button to the HUD to allow you to then select the next mating feature that would automatically constrain an additional copy of the part you just used the assemble command for. Workflow would be as follows.. Place your new part. click assemble command. pick the feature on the placed part then the feature on the mating part. Then hit the new button which would apply the first constraint then allow you to select another feature which would automatically constrain another copy of the placed part there. existing OK button would then finishes the assemble.

3d model annotation/dimensioning compliant with ASME Y14.41 including all GD&T features as well as general notes

Add typical "copy" to Ribbon UI open document tabs. Allows you to simply RMB on an open document tab and select copy to allow you to paste that part/assy into another open modeling window.

Get rid of the construction environment. Give me all the current tools in the part modeling environment.
Match or surpass the surfacing tools set that Solid(hardly-ever)Works currently offers, including the Alias Edit add-in for free.
