Can anyone else verify if they are seeing this happen?

I am running Win 7 (64 bit) with AutoCAD 2009 Mechanical.

When I close a drawing w/out saving, AutoCAD prompts me to save, I say yes, it saves, and then closes the file. If, for some unfortunate reason, I close AutoCAD (rather than just a single file) It seems to only prompt me if I want to save the currently "open" file, and upon me saying yes, closes AutoCAD, disposing of hte other "open" files. I am 99% certain this is the case, and that it is not saving, because I have repeatedly found .pdf files which I have created, that are more "current" than the .dwg....

Is this some sort of intended new behavior, or a bug, or even a system setting. Aside from the fact that I even have to use AutoCAD (in lieu of Inventor), I find this disturbing. At some point, someone will pick up a .dwg file, and not realize it wasn't saved properly. Worse, is in a crash... Yes, I know there is a recover command, but that does no good, once the drawing has been re opened and edited un wittingly...
