I still have IV R8. I would like to check out the DWF Autosave. Is it possible if you customize it to work in R8? Thanks.

Is it also possible to save a DWG version this way?

It would be possible to save DWGs off each time. However it might be a performance hit. If you are interested I could provide you a quote to write this code.

It will not work with R8 for parts or assemblies but it could be made to work with just IDWs. Again, I could provide you with a quote to customize it.

If you could, please do.
We are still using dwg-format for our suppliers. Now I have to manually save each IDW to a DWG. If it could be automated, it would be great help.

Thank you.

If you just want to batch them out all at one time you can use Kent's KwikBatchRun program.

My addin would save out a DWG each time you save the IDW. Maybe not what you want.

I'll try the one you propose.
Now I'm also doing it one by one, so that wouldn't be a problem.

Hi:

I loaded the AutoSaveDWF add-in in inventor 9 and wonder if you are aware of any bugs because when I save it will only arbitrarily save a DWF about 10 or 20 % of the time. The rest of the time the add-in will not save any DWF files... Strange...

Has anyone else run into this?

The add-in would be very useful if the bug can be fixed.

Thanks very much.
:)

It will only save if the file has been dirtied. That is if nothing has changed and you save it will not save off a new version. Make some small change, delete it and then save. It should save off the copy.

If you or your company would be willing to pay for the time required to make one I could do it. I do not have the time to provide it for free however.

Also recall R8 can only publish IDWs.

Ryan Small just wrote me to let me know an issue with migrating R10 files while AutoDWF is running.

Quote:
If you try to run the R10 migration utility with AutoDWF addin loaded, Inventor will prompt you to save every file during the migration.

So before you migrate just unselect all three file types in the setup menu.

Thanks Ryan.

That could be added but I'd have to charge to do this. I'd say it would take a couple of hours at $100/hour. Contact me if you are interested.
