I am looking to upgrade my workstation finally. either looking at a dell precision M90 or a M6300. It looks like the M90 has a better graphics card, Nvidia fx 2500 with 512 ram, and the m6300 comes with a fx1600 216 ram.

I will be using solidworks 06, XP pro. any help is welcome.

thanks

steve

I think the major difference between the M90 and the M6300 is as you stated the graphics card. The M6300 I think was developed with Vista in mind, and the FX1600 is DX10 while the FX2500 is DX9.

I have the M90 and am using it with IV and it works fantastic

I just noticed on the Dell website that the FX1600 is coming with 512mb of RAM on the M6300. Maybe you want to check your specs again.

I like the M90, but it is now an older model. They only draw back is that it is heavy. Otherwise, this is an awesome system.
