I was reading this article today and wanted to hear from the user base that frequents mCADForums...the raw opinions are always intriguing and frankly what drives most of us.

Do you really think SWX will be dead as we know it?

PLEASE READ BOTH ARTICLES AND COMMENTS BEFORE POSTING.

Note: I see Matt on the same level as a "Sean" in the Solidworks community and respect his opinions and viewpoints...focusing my career around CAD software in a Manager's role I'm highly interested in those that walk on the line (in some cases both sides of the line) and provide an invaluable perspective to their followers.

It sure has been sounding like they plan on mothballing it. That's the general feeling I have been getting for the last year or so.

I have always thought the Siemens and Dassalut would some day only want to develop to one platform and would somehow merge their two respective CAD systems. That would be NX and SolidEdge for Siemens and SolidWorks and CATIA for Dassault. As the functionality converges, it makes less sense to have the extra development overhead.
