Ok...so (3) PDF's failed...huh...and (4) Thumbs.db's ...54 successful....all in 16 mins...

..oh and it didn't recognize the same folder as a duplicate...hmm :( ? ...this is troubling...but I can see where that would require a link and that's not what this is about...yet ;)

Nick - Did you use the (2) options to convert to G Doc's format & PDF to txt? ...or skip the conversion per the default options.

I saw the options and did not convert to G Docs or PDF to txt - it was a video file. I believe these options are only available with the web upload option, not the desktop synced folder option ( haven't really looked closely though )

I've used G Docs - but if a file is excel, I really do not want to convert it. I like G Docs, but response seems slow sometimes when trying to grab a corner of a range to drag and fill - I still us Excel for any work related files.
I haven't tried the pdf to txt option - but again I have desktop applications to do this if I want.

G-Drive nor Dropbox require you to download the desktop app to use the service...and I'm not sure I'd be able to keep track of more than a few folders that I would tag as G-Drive or DB...how would this be identified?

It is easy. Windows folders are the tan-ish color like all folders that appear in Windows. Skydrive folders are blue.

Also, you are the king of technicalities.

I believe there is also a litle icon in the corner of the folder as well.

Next you will say "And for those with bad vision?".

...and I keep forgetting to sign in to skydrive at home...its completely block here at work...Dropbox Box.net and G Drive are not blocked.

I signed up for Skydrive several years ago...I want to check my storage...I think it was only 250mb originally?

Oh and BTW there is not an Android Skydrive App "from" MSFT ...Google is working on iOS and WP7 app for G-Drive...interesting?

You will probably want to log in soon and you should still be able to get your 25GB free if you want it.

You don't need an app to upload files to Skydrive, but this method could still use a healthy amount of improving.

Where did you read about the WP7 G Drive app? They don't even make Google search for WP7. The only thing that really works on WP7 right now is Gmail.

...errr only 7GB...apparently I signed up (for a live.com account) way to early before it was called Skydrive...I signed up 2/20/08 and received and email a yr or 2 ago saying the account was being transferred/converted/migrated to a new service...and I didn't follow up...thus I lost the original account due to inactivity :( ...never had that happen with Google.

As for WP7 there are options...but no official Google Drive app yet...but keep in mind all Google did was update Gdocs app and made GDrive accessible...don't be surprised if that doesn't happen with WP7 ;) ...do you have GDocs app for WP7?

Of course you haven't had that happen, you go there everyday!

I lost my first gmail account. I've lost Yahoo accounts, and I've lost hotmail accounts (all free accounts).

Well unfortunately for MSFT ...I'm not going to consider Skydrive as long as IT blocks the Website :( ...besides the cost is a bit much for what I want...1TB is my target just for side biz...then another 1TB for personal...so my yearly cost would be acceptable with G Drive at point :D

I can't think of any reason your IT department would block it. Unless they are trying to block Messenger or something. IT departments suck balls. They will soon start to lose their power. Mark my words.

I'm glad you are happy with G Drive. That is the thing, I'm not trying to get anyone to switch.
